Dr. Bukovský is a physician, lecturer and writer working in Slovakia. He graduated from Medical School at the Comenius University in Bratislava. Since 1990 he has been dedicating his professional career to the  promotion of health through healthy nutrition and healthy lifestyle. He gained his PhD in Human Physiology and Pathophysiology for research into the effect of nutrition on vasodilation function of arterial endothelium. For over 10 years he was Assistant Professor of Physiology at the Medical School of the Comenius University in Bratislava where he also led specialized lectures and courses on nutrition and health. He played an active role in a number of national projects on healthy nutrition and public health. Dr. Bukovský is also closely  working with the media for over 25 years: he regularly contributes to all major print and electronic media in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. He authored 12 books, having sold over 900 thousand copies in Slovak and Czech languages.

In 2004 Dr. Bukovský founded his private Center for Clinical Nutrition, where he applies nutritional and holistic approaches in preventive medicine, as well as in management of different conditions and diagnosis. He lectures at professional and lay events, supports different projects and activities focusing on improvement of public health and nutrition in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. His work is strictly guided by academic research, avoiding popular fad trends.

He considers the True Health Initiative by Dr. David Katz to be of utmost importance in the era of information chaos. Hence he is honored to accept the invitation to join the Council of Directors and shall use all available means to bring the activities of the Initiative to Central Europe.
